This is a slow process that I started around mid-summer last year. I've been testing some mobile and pc games last March officially. And I find that I end up coming across some really interesting games that I feel compelled to talk about. The first of these games is a mobile robot building game originally called "Robot Battle Arena". It has since been renamed to "Megabot Battle Arena", likely due to there already being a game with a similar name on the Playstore. But the game is still fun and I am going to be doing a follow-up discussion on it since I'd last played it. I'm sure the Dev won't mind since he gave me permission before to talk about it. Here's the video:
There are also a couple other games I'll be soon talking about, one will be starting a kickstarter soon, it's a Space Shump that is not publicly talked about just yet. More details to come when the kickstarter launches. The other is a text-based medival fantasy roleplaying adventure that I just couldn't help but getting excited for called "Grim Quest". The video for that will be coming in the next few days as I am still playing around with it and enjoying the game largely with the amount of challenge that it presents.
For both of these games, I've reached out to the developers and have already gotten their permission to talk about and present their games. I'm hoping that if I keep this up and stay as transparent as possible that I'll find my place working with these types of people at some point. It's exciting and fun to me all the same. And I like that I am building respect with people who are doing something that I would like to dive into eventually.
This also rings very true with the team at Advenworks who developed "Loop: The Distress Call". My buddy Jay and I had an interview with them on our "Wingin' IT Podcast" a few weeks back and had a great time talking with Estee and Aline from the team. That discussion is available on Jay's channel here:
This is the type of stuff that really keeps me motivated and wanting to work harder. 2020 is starting out to be a pretty good year for my ambitions, let's just hope I can keep up.
